The Mintz Family Foundation for Creative Jewish
Education invites all interested candidates to apply for the 2009 MFFCJE Award.
Eligible candidates may be working in any Jewish educational setting, including
formal and informal settings, day or after-schools, synagogue schools, resource
centers, camps, family and adult programs, seminaries, and any other setting
promoting creative Jewish education. The innovation must be a program or
curriculum that has been classroom or group tested. Proposal for untested,
future programs are not eligible. Candidates who feel they qualify may now
submit their applications to be received no later than February 15, 2010 by 5:00
p.m..

Part I: Biographical Information
Name

Current position in Jewish education
Candidate’s Education, dates attended, and all degrees awarded
Chronological record (most recent first) of
positions held in Jewish education, including the institution’s name, full
address, title, duties, and significant achievements.
Part II: Description of Innovation
The Description of Innovation should not exceed two 8 ˝” x 11” pages,
double-spaced, at 12-point font. This statement should describe the particular
innovation for which the candidate is applying. The candidate should describe
the goals and purposes of the innovation and what was achieved.
Part III: Statements of Support
Candidate should send no more than two statements of support, written by parents
(if students are below college-age) or by students themselves (if college age or
beyond), describing how the candidate’s creativity positively affected the
students’ Jewish education. These statements may be submitted separately, but
must include the candidate’s name and must be received by the Foundation no
later than 5:00 p.m., February 15, 2010. Applications without Statements of
Support will not be considered complete.
Deadline for receipt of Biographical Information,
Description of Innovation, and Statements of Support: No later than 5:00 p.m.,
February 15, 2010.
Materials not received by the specified time will be ineligible for the 2009
MFFCJE Award.

Announcement of Winner
The 2009 winner's name will be announced on or before Lag B'Omer 5770, 2 May,
2010. Each winner will receive a check in the amount of $5,000 plus a
certificate acknowledging the recipient as winner of the Mintz Family Foundation
Award for Creative Jewish Education of that particular year.
